XK60 Diamond Weekend at Goodwood Circuit & Cowdray Park

August 8 - 10, 2008

 

The Jaguar XK Club and Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club have unveiled plans for the largest gathering of Jaguar XK 120s, 140s and 150s ever!

Over 600 of Jaguar's classic production sports cars, including many rare examples, are expected to converge at historic Goodwood for the start of three-days of celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the launch of the iconic XK 120 and Jaguar's ground breaking XK-engine.

 

A host of historic cars, XK-engined vehicles and modern Jaguar models are expected to join the huge roll-call of classic XKs for the celebrations that will take place at Goodwood Circuit and Cowdray Park between 8-10 August 2008.

Classic Jaguar sales specialist and restorer, J. D Classics, has been unveiled as the sponsor of the XK60 Diamond Charity Ball.

 

In addition to mounting an elegant display of classic XKs at stately Goodwood House where the Ball will be held, J. D Classics will be exhibiting throughout XK60 at Goodwood Circuit and participating in a number of activities during the weekend of festivities.

Calling all XKs

 

An extensive search is underway for classic Jaguar XKs in the build-up to next year’s XK60 celebrations at Goodwood Circuit and Cowdray Park (8-10 August, 2008). The International Jaguar XK Club is calling on all owners to make a pilgrimage to the home of historic British motor racing, to be part of the largest meeting of these breathtaking cars, ever! The target is to achieve a gathering of 600 original XK120s, 140s and 150s to celebrate their 60th birthday!

 

It has been announced that Bonhams Auctioneers will be holding a sale of Jaguar cars and related automobilia at the forthcoming XK60 celebrations at Goodwood Motor Circuit (8-9 August 2008).  The auction will take place on Saturday 9 August, with previews on Friday 8 and the morning of Saturday 9 August.

The XK60 Dating Agency!

 

More and more members own two, three or even four XKs. We would like all, or most of those XKs, at XK60.

 

We have hundreds of members around the world who, for whatever reason, may not be able to bring an XK over. We have members who are restoring their XK and will not have it finished in time.

 

Our aim is to put the two together. This is a way for members to help fellow members, and build XK60 into an extraordinary gathering that may never be repeated again – at least not in our lifetimes.

True Blue at Goodwood Circuit: Ecurie Ecosse Display at XK60 Celebrations

This summer's XK60 celebrations will feature one of the finest displays of Ecurie Ecosse cars ever seen.  Organisers of the event, which takes place at historic Goodwood Circuit and Cowdray Park, 8-10 August 2008, have already confirmed a number of significant EE vehicles, including the famous purpose-built team transporter and six historic racers from the renowned Dick Skipworth Collection.  Particularly exciting is the news that many of the famous sports racers will be taking to the track in force - so they will be seen in action, rather than merely as static exhibits.

Murray Walker, Stirling Moss & Norman Dewis to attend XK60 Celebrations

Motor racing legend, Sir Stirling Moss, and the unique F1 commentator, Murray Walker, are joining forces to mark 60 years of Jaguar style at this summer's XK60 celebrations (8-10 August).  The pair will both be present at the Goodwood Circuit leg of the event (8-9 August) - which is set to honour classic Jaguar XKs, the remarkable XK engine and Jaguar's racing heritage.  Also in attendance will be Jaguar Chief Tester and Le Mans driver, Norman Dewis.

Everyone who puchased their XK60 Goodwood Circuit passes before 30 April 2008 were entered into a prize draw and four lucky winners will experience being driven by Stirling Moss, arguably the greatest racing driver of all time, around the Goodwood track.  Four competition runners-up will be driven by another Jaguar legend, Norman Dewis - probably in a D-type.
