Bailiffscourt Hotel Weekend

The weekend is based at the luxurious Bailiffscourt Hotel in Climping

Thursday 7 August - Monday 11 August 2008

From the outside, Bailiffscourt is a classic English Manor House but step through the door and you are transported to another world - one that mixes lovingly-restored features with a relaxed contemporary feel.

The hotel was first built in the 1920s by the late Sir Walter Guinness as a private family retreat. The family commissioned Amy as Philips to create the illusion of an authentic medieval manor house from reclaimed material collected from derelict 13th century buildings. The result is an architectural gem.

Gothic mullioned windows overlook the rose-clad courtyard, whilst narrow passageways lead you through a series of intimate lounges and sitting rooms. Many of the public rooms feature open log fires, freshly cut flowers and a wealth of fine antiques.

The setting for the hotel is 30 acres of private parkland dotted with moats and small streams. There is an abundance of wild life to be seen, all of which is closely guarded by the resident peacocks.

Curious yet supremely comfortable, ancient but unashamedly stylish, Bailiffscourt is the ideal location from which to enjoy a weekend of indulgence and retrospective glamour.

The Weekend starts here:

Each room is unique in this hotel and there are a variety of room categories for you to choose from.

Hotel Facilities

  • Fine Dining
  • Luxurious, purpose-built health and beauty spa only steps from the private beach offering an extensive selection of treatments and therapies.
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub and Jacuzzi.
  • Bedrooms to suit all tastes with four different categories of room, plus one Master Suite.
  • Your hosts are long-standing Club members and celebrated Tour Organisers Ricardo and Encarnita Galvani. Well-travelled and renowned for their attention to detail, the Galvanis are the perfect hosts for this de-Luxe Weekend.
THURSDAY 7 AUGUST 2008

Ricardo and Encarnita look forward to welcoming you to Bailiffscourt where they will give you a portfolio of information for the Weekend. This includes a programme of events for the weekend at Bailiffscourt, tickets for Goodwood Circuit for Friday & Saturday, and Sunday at Cowdray Park, an XK60 Programme, Ball Tickets, Routes to Goodwood and Cowdray Park, plus local information.

This evening will take a cultural trip to the world-renown Chichester Festival Theatre.

Widely known for its excellence, this is one of the United Kingdom's flagship theatres, with a dazzling international reputation for producing a wide range of theatrical productions, from musicals and comedies, to classic drama and innovative new writing. It is one of the few outstanding theatres for quality productions outside London.

To the strains of refined classical musicians, the 'Bailiffs' tea will be served at 5pm in the hotel and at 6.30pm a coach will transport the party to the Theatre where best seats have been reserved. At the interval there will be drinks and appetisers in the chic café and, following the performance, there will be a post-Theatre supper back at the hotel.
